Reality is the Portrait of Sadness
Poetry and Music by Andrew Pell

We all see a family Portrait centerpiece hanging on a wall.

The family together is a portrait of smiles that won’t let you fall.

But what is the reality behind the portrait with memories.

To our reality it is not a clear picture but of densely weeping leaves.

Human souls frozen in this defining moment of time,

In a microsecond brings earthly peace of the enduring kind.

Silent faces captured on the modern canvass.

Sailing into uncharted waters with an unsteady mast.

The reality lies not in the smiles, but deep within.

We crave for harmony, but sometimes act on a whim.

The observant and intuitive will see many angles with such clarity.

Understanding human nature is the key for reality.
