SOON
By Patrick N. Kramer

Oh how the days have passed us by.
It won’t be long before the snow does fly.
Soon colored leaves upon the ground will lay.
And it won’t be long until its Christmas Day.

Soon in the streets bells will ring.
Soon of Christ’s birth we will sing.
Soon in the snow children will play.
And soon it will be Christmas Day.

Oh how the weeks have come and gone.
The days grow short and the nights long.
Still the days are warm and nights are cool.
To forget Christmas is coming is to be a fool.

For soon in the streets bells will ring.
Soon of Christ’s birth we will sing.
Soon in the snow children will play.
Very soon it will be Christmas Day.

Oh how the months quickly came to an end.
Soon Christmas cards we will send.
To friends and all who we hold as dear.
It’s the way it is, each and every year.

For soon in the streets bells will ring.
Soon of Christ’s birth we will sing.
Soon in the snow children will play.
For very soon it will be Christmas day.
