The Good Shepherd Knows We Want To Be Found
Poetry By Gerard Haughey

Lord, I am afraid-
Suddenly I am aware- I have left you-
So far away, I have strayed-
Alone and weeping I reach out my hand-
I call Your name, Jesus- Where are You?
I will always own that shame, I promise.

But whose Father is deaf to a son's cry? No matter how far away? None.
He hears me- not by ear, His Heart...
And He appears again before me,
Knowing now that I am certainly lost- a fallen sheep-
He reaches for me, saves me from certain death-
He holds me to His bosom- This Love, I weep.
And He is ever so happy to hold me-
And I ever so thankful to be Loved by Him again.
