The Joy of GivingThere is much pleasure in giving a gift to a person you care for.
You often ask why haven’t I done this before.
To family and friends it is a pure delight to simply give.
To watch their reaction and their smile, it is one of life’s treasures to savour and live.
Remember the old saying, “It is better to give than receive”.
This is a true statement, one you shouldn’t forget about and leave.
There is also an extra pleasure in giving to a stranger you don’t know.
It doesn’t necessarily mean giving material gifts tied with a ribbon and a bow.
It also means giving spiritually to a stranger in need.
It may mean giving that person who is hungry a good feed.
It could be the form of a warm smile and kindly words,
It is a gift to help a person to be happy and know their soul is singing along with the birds.
The joy of giving is infectious and very bold.
It is the act of the Divine and God is never cold.
