Preparation

Fruit smoothies: carob, mint, and banana is a wonderful warm weather vegan treat. This recipe will make 2 servings, and takes only about 10 minutes to prepare. It should be eaten immediately.

We prepare our fruit slushies in our Vita-Mix, but they can be made in any high speed blender.

Place the banana, carob, mint, vanilla, dates or stevia in the blender, cover and run at high speed until it is smooth. Uncover, add the ice, recover, and run the blender at high speed until the contents are smooth.  It will most likely be necessary to tamp or mix the slushie to insure that all the ice cubes are finely chopped.  If your blender does not have a tamper rod, stop the machine, mix the slushie, cover and run at high speed again until the slushie is smooth.

The slushie can be made thicker by adding more ice, or thinner by reducing the quantity of ice.

Serve and Enjoy!  Slushies are great for breakfast, dessert or for a snack.

Vegan FlagThe above recipe is in keeping with God's creation intent (Genesis 1:29-31): 'Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground-- everything that has the breath of life in it-- I give every green plant for food." And it was so. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.' (NIV) Let no animal suffer or die that we may live!
