Moo-ving people toward compassionate living

From Star - 22 Apr 2004 I am absolutely disgusted with the living conditions and murderous treatment of these animals. I have very little support in these issues. I believe that there is so little care from other people because they are unaware of the horrible gruesome details. Those who are aware choose to dismiss the ideas because they are so used to eating meat and poultry. As immoral as I think it is, I feel like I am fighting a losing battle. Reply from Frank L. Hoffman Dear Star: Thank you for your email and compassionate comments. You are not alone in your frustration, and it isn't a losing battle. Change takes time. We have been working to get animal consciousness and sensitivity into the churches for the last 25 years, and we have seen some significant changes in the last few years. There are also some significant signs that the meat and dairy industries are beginning to run scared in regard to changes in public opinion about their cruelty. The pollution and disease problems caused by the meat and dairy industry are beginning to become mainstream in the eyes of the public. Don't lose hope!
