Wishful Thinking |
From Crystal - 25 Feb 2005 My name is Crystal, and I'm sixteen years old. I was just wondering, what am I supposed to do to help these animals? I'm trying to become a vegetarian, which is really hard, and I don't wear animals. But what more can I do? I just feel that the efforts animal rights activists are making just aren't good enough. Reply from Frank and Mary Dear Crystal: Thank you very much for your efforts and concern. Let's start with your desire to become a vegetarian (vegan). We have a
large vegan recipe section on our web site that should give you and your
family some good meal suggestions. One of the problem with some of the animal rights movement efforts, is that they concentrate on a specific issues where the successes are quite small. We have found that the most effective way to bring about major change is to raise the public's awareness of the horrors going on behind the scene, which is what we're doing with our animal exploitation series. Students have been doing this in schools and colleges and cafeterias that now serve vegan meals. Many states now have felony cruelty laws, and the public becomes more aware of the cruelties. We have seen some positive change when the efforts are polite and peaceful, and we just can't give up. What ever you can do to help increase public awareness will help! You can also refer people to our web site so that they can see for themselves. In the Love of the Lord, Frank and Mary Return to Visitors' Comments |
