Ladies and Gentlemen:

I have read your site and I am appalled at what I have seen. I never knew that such abuse existed. I cannot support you financially but I shall be praying for you.

My opinion on this is that I do not think such cruelties should be done, however, I do not think not eating certain animals is totally wrong. I believe that God created animals for us to love and care for but also to provide food for us.

I am not saying that I agree with the conditions or the methods that the animals have to suffer. I think there should be better and less crueler ways to process meat.

Cattle and pigs and chickens are good meat and God did provide them to supply us. I think though that farmers should treat their animals with more respect and humanity. It would also be better for the meat if it wasn't running around in contaminated and unsanitary livings.

Also if they took care of their animals they might have fewer deaths. And quite frankly if they want to make a quick buck or two they shouldn't be in the farming business. It takes clean, honest work.

I know very little about meat process but I do know enough that you should treat animals kindly and with love.

But I do not think one should stay absolutely away from meat. If you look at scripture in the time of Moses the Israelites were complaining about no food. God sent them quails. Meat. If God did not want us to eat meat then why would he send meat to His chosen people?

Please believe me that I have no disrespect for your cause but I don't think becoming a vegetarian will help or solve the problem.

Thank you for your time.

Dear Roxanna:

Thank you for your letter and comments.

The problem is that 95% of all commercially sold animal products comes from factory farming operations where the pressure is on to produce the cheapest meat, dairy and eggs, and the cheapest way is to cause the animals to suffer greatly. These farmers won't change until financial pressure is brought upon them by taking away the money by not buying their products.

We're open to any other suggestions you have to solving this problem?

God has already supplied the people with manna (a vegan food) when they began complaining about wanting meat, and we need to remember that supplying the quail was not God's will but His concession.  The proof of this is that thousands of people died from eating the quail.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
