His Royal Heart
Poetry By Anthony James

who took my love one day,
which one of you-
did I give myself away

when you said goodbye to me
my love passed away-
my heart sputtered out
and I went astray

oh sure, my heart did pump of blood
and my eyes did blink
and I woke and slept
but my plans for time did change,
and I planned to find another
to be a bother or query on,
forever in this skin,
of sin, no one wins
but the elect of whom suffer greatly
but never led away
or did not pray but for this,
that we were still
in His Heart.
