Mercy
Poetry By Anthony James

O' Lord
I did not see You
Thou my Spirit was dead before Ye.

Your Word was enough.
Thy Mouth Has Spoke.

You know me, utterly.

And I lay before Ye O' Jehovah
A man from Thy Created World.
A sinner.

I go down, Lord
Straight away, I burn.
My flesh holds the unquenching flame
My Spirit suffers.
Indeed dead men, are we.

As though Thy split me
Man of flesh, Spiritual being...
One would argue 'works'
The other weeps sorrowfully
For our Spirit knows your Truth
But the flesh, did not.
Despite my ancillary prayers
Prayers of the pride of an unfortunate man.

Absurdity of my falsity
Shames me
Flames have become me

In a cage.
A "special" man that I say I am
And all I can say is

Jesus please come for me.

Over and over, again and again.
Nothing else do I say.

And I am dying from the flame
And I am rocking from back to forth

"Jesus"  "Jesus"  "Jesus"

Jesus.
