AS LONG AS I LIVE
By Patrick N. Kramer
Written 1-17-07

I took some time to learn something today.
Of my day I did not just let it pass away.
Perhaps of what I learned was nothing new.
Still I relearned it as we all often have to do.

Then again perhaps all I did was to remember it you see.
For memories will often teach us of what we use to be.
Thus it is often through our memories we do learn.
It is through our past we often learn to discern.

We learn to discern the things we need to know.
Things like the love our pets to us do show.
A love unconditional that they freely do give!
It is with such knowledge we should learn to live.

Thus it is that my day did pass me by.
A day of memories of thoughts and years gone by!
Memories of the love my pets did give.
Memories to be cherished as long as I live.
