Institutionalized Animal Cruelty – S: Locust Grove Farm – 20120329
Institutionalized animal cruelty is usually hidden behind closed doors, for they don’t want the public to see the truth. However, in Mark 4:22-23 of the Bible we are told:
22. For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open.
23 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”
NIV
Please see and hear the horrible suffering that is going on behind closed doors, like the instance that is being disclosed here, and share this information with as many people as you can, because it’s up to us to speak out for the animals who cannot speak for themselves; and since the government seems unwilling or unable to put an end to repeated instances of unlawful institutionalized animal cruelty, it is up to us to expose the repeated acts of cruelty going on behind closed doors.
On 29 March 2012, Locust Grove Farm, slaughterhouse in Argyle, New York was inspected by the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), and was cited for not properly stunning animals. The report stated:
Citation: On 03/29/2012 at approximately 8:45 am while a beef slaughter was in progress, Mr.____ administered a gunshot to an animal in the knocking pen on the slaughter floor which did not render the animal unconscious. He then administered a second shot to the animal which then did render the animal unconscious, which was followed by a third shot as a precaution.[newline]Even though Mr.____ took immediate corrective actions this still a noncompliance of 9CFR 313.16(a)(1) which states in part:…..(so as to produce immediate unconsciousness in the animal by a single shot….)[newline]I discussed this issue with ____ and ____ and further discussion is planned in a weekly meeting.
313.16 The slaughtering of cattle, calves, sheep, swine, goats, horses, mules, and other equines by shooting with firearms and the handling in connection therewith, in compliance with the provisions contained in this section, are hereby designated and approved as humane methods of slaughtering and handling of such animals under the Act. (a) Utilization of firearms, required effect; handling. As we continue to expose more and more of these instances of institutionalized animal cruelty, such as this one at Locust Grove Farm, we see that violations like this are repeatedly happening throughout this violent killing industry. What they are doing is ungodly.
The only sure way to end this seemingly endless line of cited and uncited instances of institutionalized animal cruelty is to go vegan and share our compassionate reasons for doing it, so that others will follow our example.
