We believe that there is absolutely no consideration for the rights of animals when it comes to raising and killing animals for food; for the animals are deprived of their God given right to live and enjoy the life He gave them. In fact, there is very little consideration for the welfare of the animals unless the industry is forced to care for them, as the following case indicates.

On 1 December 2010, Tri-Town Packing slaughterhouse in Brasher Falls, New York was inspected by the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), and cited for improperly safeguarding the animals. The report stated:

Citation: At approximately 0815 while observing the humane handling of animals with Dr. ____ and Dr. ____ the following noncompliance was found with the animal holding pens. Pen Number 1 and 2 have a board between them that appears to be broken and no longer supporting the separation between the two pens. US retain/reject tags B39600603 and B39600604 were applied to the doors of both pens. This is a violation of 9 CFR 313.1 which states: “Livestock pens, driveways and ramps shall be maintained in good repair. They shall be free from sharp or protruding objects which may, in the opinion of the inspector, cause injury or pain to the animals. Loose boards, splintered or broken planking, and unnecessary openings where the head, feet, or legs of an animal may be injured shall be repaired.” No animals were observed in these pens at the time. Mr. ____ was informed of this noncompliance and that failure to follow the regulations can result in further regulatory control action.

We all need to keep speaking out to everyone we can about the institutionalized animal cruelty involved in the animal killing business at facilities like Tri-Town Packing.

If we keep silent, things will only get worse; but if we continue to speak against all forms of animal exploitation and go vegan, these practices will begin to end.
