Salad Bar Introduction
We use the expression "The Salad Bar" to describe our average lunch or dinner salads, because of the wide variety of veggies we put in them. To us, a salad is like a second main course, or at times it becomes the main course; it depends on what we desire to eat at the time. We also refer to this page as The Salad Bar, because of the variety of salads and dressings.
For health reasons, most of these recipes contain no oil or salt. If someone desires these ingredients, they can be added at the table to suit their individual taste. In some of these recipes, we use Guar Gum as a thickener.
For reasons of compassion, we are presenting these vegetarian/vegan recipes. We have been vegans for a long time, and are in excellent health. We don't require animal products in our diets to live. And, both humans and animals deserve, and have the right, to live in the cruelty-free environment that God originally intended.
The above recipe is in keeping with God's creation intent (Genesis 1:29-31): 'Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground-- everything that has the breath of life in it-- I give every green plant for food." And it was so. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.' (NIV) Let no animal suffer or die that we may live!
