Oatmeal - Steel-Cut with Apples Cinnamon and Raisins
1/2 cup Oats, steel-cut
2 cups Water or Apple Juice (apple juice makes the oatmeal sweeter, but also adds calories)
1/2 cup Raisins
1 tsp. Cinnamon, ground

We prefer cooking steel-cut oatmeal in our microwave oven because it doesn't stick to the bottom of the pot as when cooking on the stove top. The next best way to cook steel-cut oatmeal is in a double boiler.
Wash and core the apple, and cut into small pieces.
Place all the ingredients in a large glass baking dish, mix well, and place in the microwave without a cover. Cook on "high" until it begins to boil, mix again and continue cooking for another 10 minutes, mixing after 5 minutes.
Serve and enjoy!
Apple Juice, Unfiltered
Apples, Red Delicious
Oats, Irish (Steel-Cut)
Raisins, Thompson Seedless

The above recipe is in keeping with God's creation intent (Genesis 1:29-31): 'Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground-- everything that has the breath of life in it-- I give every green plant for food." And it was so. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.' (NIV) Let no animal suffer or die that we may live!
